Hello!~

It's finally time for another travel entry!! Yay!~
So, after visiting Kagawa Prefecture on Shikoku for only 2 days, I was back on the main island (Honshu) in Okayama.
Because I've already been to the main attractions in Okayama city years ago, I went for some other sites this time.
First destination was: Kurashiki

Kurashiki is especially well-known for its various museums, but is also worth a visit because of the canal area and all the nice and old buildings around it!!

This is already the last day if my awesome winter vacation.
No need to worry, though, spring vacation's coming up in a few weeks!! (^___^)b
This last day features another highlight: Matsumoto Castle (I wanted to visit it forever, but somehow never managed to do so until now!)

Here's already the next "travel entry", the second day of my spontaneous trip.
I always wanted to visit "Iga Ueno". It's easily accessible from Kyoto, Osaka or Nara, so I tried to go there during my winter vacation (when I was in Kobe, Nara, Osaka) and also during my spring vacation when I was in Kyoto, but failed both times!!! ....
Good thing I "had to" go to Osaka again and THIS TIME I finally managed to go there.
Now, what's so great about Iga Ueno, you ask?
There's a castle!!! That's already enough for me (^-^')>
Boo, ya say? Iga Ueno is most famous for ninja. The Iga school of ninjutsu (art of stealth), based in Ueno City (Mie Prefecture), used to be one of Japan's two leading ninja schools during the feudal era (the Koga school in Shiga Prefecture was the other).
Maybe you've already heard about in some Japanese dramas or movies (e.g. "Shinobi").

Anyway, let's get started.
There are around 100 photos this time, I'm sorry, but I don't wanna split up this entry and today FOR THE FIRST TIME videos as well!!! :D

It seems you'll have to wait a little bit longer for the next "travel entry" of my spring vacation, because I wanna post about my trip to Osaka (and Iga-Ueno the next time) last week first.
As most of you know I went to Osaka for 2 days, mainly to watch a movie and meet my NUMBER ONE Japanese star (*___*)
As it's really expensive to travel to Osaka from where I live I figured I should use this opportunity and plan a short trip as well.
The result: one day sightseeing in Osaka, one day in Iga-Ueno. The latter was really awesome and worth the money, but let's start with Osaka today (^-^)/

It's a working day (on which I usually don't post), but it seems I caught a cold and thus don't feel like doing anything else . Furthermore, I need to keep the photos coming, otherwise we'll never ever finish ;P
I think I mentioned it before. I came back with over 5000 photos from 2 cameras, after 2 rounds of sorting out that was down to 3800ish and now for posting here on LJ it's about 770 photos. Still too many so that I have to spilt up several days again. I don't wanna have entries with 130+ photos in it and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like that either (^-^'')

Anyway, let's start without any further delay.
My first day in Hiroshima was super super rainy, thus not so many (nice) photos and a lot of crappy photos taken inside the bomb museum instead.
I hope that nevertheless this entry will be interesting. Don't worry there will be enough cherry blossom photos in future entries, so you can consider this entry as somewhat special, because on no other day the atmosphere and weather was like this.

Probably one of the most famous spots in the park.
If you look through the hole you can see the "A-Bomb Dome". As it's so popluar, it was quite difficult to get a good photo.

this time is mainly a "castle entry". On my 3rd day I took a break from Nara and decided to go to Hikone and Nagahama for a day trip.
This was quite an unlucky day, though. You'll soon see why.

After getting a map in both, English and Japanese, at the tourist information center, I already was on my way to the castle.
Just don't lose any time, hurry up - that's what was on my mind (^-^')>
Speaking of tourist information centers: I had a lot of interesting conversations with the people there in many cities this time. While other foreign tourists were standing in line for the only "tiny" "foreign tourist" counter, I went to the "normal" one, speaking in Japanese with the people.
Sometimes we ended up having a conversation about GOD knows what!!! That's another reason why I love travelling alone :) So many random encounters (^-^)>
I always get to hear that my Japanese sounds so "kirei" - they're talking about my pronunciation, but then I always try to tell them that I'm German and that the German and Japanese pronunciation are MUCH closer than the English and Japanese ones and that's why some English native speakers have a harder time learning proper Japanese pronunciation. It's not that I'm a genius or anything. I'm just lucky enough to have a mother tongue with a similar phonic system XD

Anyways ... let's continue:
The small mascot (on the right) in the picture above is, of course, the macot of Hikone. I became a fan of it IMMEDIATELY! It's so cute!! <3

Thanks so much for your nice comments to my last entry. It makes me really happy that you seem to enjoy my travel entries and that keeps me going although I don't really have the time to do so (x__X)
Anyway, here's part 2 of my first day - in a seperate entry like I already said because this is all about my visit at the sex museum in Beppu.
I think the photos are not too bad, but if you're easily offended by things like that, you might wanna skip this entry ;)

So, here we go again :)



Let's start with a rather harmless photo. This is what's awaiting you in front of the entrance.
When I went there (close to closing time 4:30pm, there were not many people in there which made it easier for me, but it still felt a little bit awkward, especially when I was standing beside a young couple (prolly younger than me) and the girl was petting a huge wooden penis ... GAAAH!!! *headdesk* XDDDD)

Btw. not a SINGLE manga- or anime-themed sex related exhibition there!! I was surprised! And a little bit disappointed XDDDD

The time has finally come.
Today I'm posting photos of the last day of my spring vacation 2009.
I don't know yet if there will be photos of my summer vacation 2009 this year as I'm going back to Germany for that (~ 2 weeks).
There won't be any JAPAN summer vacation photos this year, though. It's a shame as I really enjoyed my summer vacation last year, but I'm also looking forward to going back to Germany although it's only for a short time.

Anyway, enough of my blabbering:
